For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for an Ops Engineer Mobile (Linux)
You strive to automate our monitoring, testing, tuning and capacity management capabilities so the team can see early when things go wrong and are able to act quickly in preventing loss of service; in the event that things do go wrong (as we are all human) you perform root cause analysis, contribute to restoring service as fast as possible and learn from the experience in identifying the root-cause of the problem and work actively to prevent the problem from occurring again.
You are eager to learn and use (new) technologies (such as: Docker, Graphite, LogStash, Grafana, Gatling, Nagios, Nolio) furthermore you are an expert in Linux, you prefer scripting over doing things manually and have a strong affinity with middleware such as Tibco Enterprise Bus, Tomcat, Cassandra, Oracle.
You continuously tune the performance of the systems taking cost and the trend of resource usage of the infrastructure into consideration. Furthermore you enable your squad by supporting and enhancing the development environments (such as the build server, Jenkins & Sonar).
Profile Ops Engineer Mobile (Linux) (QR3512) :
Minimal a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or comparable (HBO opleiding).
Experience in implementing monitoring procedures and systems.
Strong knowledge of Linux with the ability to install, configure, analyze, maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and manage the security of operating systems, middleware and networks
Experience working with network architecture including VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, switches, and routers.
Solid experience in the automation of operational processes using a Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
Experience in operating database management systems (such as Oracle, Cassandra).
Experience in operating middleware such as Tomcat, TIBCO Enterprise Bus, JVMs.
An attitude to rather automate than performing manual tasks (such as automation of deployments, tests, builds, packaging and shipping.)
Experience in designing and engineering highly available, reliable, and scalable infrastructures
It is an advantage if you have experience in Java, iOS and/or android development and mobile experience using the different stores (e.g. App Store, Google Play)
Experience working in Scrum teams.
Willing to work in standby shifts outside regular office hours.
