Description

MindSource (www.mindsource.com) is hiring for a Full Stack Engineer to join a long term contract at our client site. Our client is looking for a passionate software engineer that loves JavaScript (browser-based and Node.js) and has a keen understanding of high performance architectures and technologies. You will be responsible for building products that leverage the latest horizontal scaling solutions such as Cassandra and Node.js. As a full-stack engineer, your duties will also include client-side development.  

You will be a leader on building out a new JavaScript platform for our client’s online products using Node.js, React, Cassandra and other technologies. The goal is to make this product one of the largest Node.js based applications in the industry over the next few years. Another important attribute of this role is to help contribute code and our learnings (good and bad) back to the Open Source community.   The right individual will be self-driven. Someone who cares about maintainability of the code, automation, deployment processes and how to enable innovation through fostering a growing culture of Open Source. They will go beyond just coding and help to shape the engineering culture and best practices.  

Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain JavaScript code for both the front-end and Node.js.
  •  Understand the nuances between browsers and provide advice and guidance to other developers on handling those nuances. 
  • Be accountable for code quality and writing tests (unit and integration).
  • Be expected to help lead architectural discussions and decisions. 
  • Help and advise in the selection of the most appropriate frameworks to use with the product. 
  • Contribute to Open Source projects related to the tech stack and domain of our products. 
  • Perform code reviews and participate in suggesting and supporting coding best practices. 
Requirements:
  • A passion for cutting-edge Web Technologies 
  • 5+ years professional development experience 
  • 3+ years professional JavaScript experience 
  • 1+ years professional Node.js experience 
  • Very strong understanding of all aspects of Web-Browser Performance and Web-Browser Technologies, both new and old
  • Very strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design 
  • Strong mentorship skills 
  • Strong understanding of best practices for Security
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies 
  • Experience with Git/Github 
  • IDEAL person also has React.JS and Flux
