FPGA Design Engineer / Development Engineer / Xilinx / Contract

Location: Edinburgh

Rates: £40-43 per hour

Duration: 6 months initial

My Edinburgh based Client is a leading technology firm well known in the industry as a primary supplier and pioneer in their field.I am currently recruiting an experienced FPGA Develoment Engineer for a 6 month project to work on designs with the latest Xilinx FPGA technology and Logicore IP development flows.

Initially you will work on the final phases of the development of a complex wired comms IP core with the development team. Following this you with start a new development of the next generation product, working with leafing edge wired communications standards.

You will be responsible for IP system integration and developing hardware and interoperability tests, including BER testing, using standard Xilinx hardware development boards.

Skills/experience:
  • Xilinx FPGA design practices and the Vivado tool flow
  • Using Xilinx multi-gigabit transceivers
  • Verilog RTL simulation
  • Testing and debugging high speed FPGA designs in hardware, integrated logic analyzer and VIO use
  • Some knowledge of SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM would be helpful
