A Digital Web Ops is required for our high profile government department based in Sheffield. This is for an initial 10 month contract.
Description
Managing the team of web Ops. Share advanced knowledge of programming skills with the wider team, providing support where necessary. Operational management of Linux Servers, delivering a complex web application stack. Building and configuring new server platforms and the automated tooling to do so. Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems. Supporting development teams with configuring applications for deployment. Anticipate technological developments to keep activity relevant and targeted. Sharing on-call duties as required.
Key Task's
The Web Ops will be responsible for working alongside 2x Java Developers responsible for converting User Stories and Acceptance Criteria gathered & refined during the project's Discovery/Alpha into a physical product - caseload tracker tool with SMS capability, potential through API integration. Key deliverable will be to build a fully tested front and Back End solution using mainly Java based programming.
Experience Required
Experience of provisioning development and production environments, helping development teams to build secure applications that are easy to operate and scale. Experience with the Java platform & the ability to convert User Stories and Acceptance Criteria into a physical product. Be able to work develop products as part of an Agile team.
