Description
Our client, a large player in the insurance sector, based in Brussels, Belgium, is currently seeking a Functional Designer to work in the financial department for a 12 month contract.
The successful candidate will speak fluent Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other language.
A Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a relevant domain (or equivalent experience) is mandatory.
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
-Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
-Strong active listening skills
-Good communication skills
-Results orientated, with attention to detail
-Experience with Insurance or Banking applications
-Relational database design techniques
-Software development management
-Significant experience as a Functional Analyst, ideally in a large company
-French or Dutch speaker, with a good knowledge of the other
Preferable Skills and Experience:
-Group Insurance
-Non-Life Insurance
-Cobol Development on Mainframe with DB2
-Integration of different technologies (Wintel, Cobol)
-Knowledge of ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) principles
-SOA (Service Oriented Architecture)
-Some Project Management experience
-Experience and knowledge of Technical Analysis
-Methodology applicable for Business, Process and Functional Analysis
Your mission as Functional Designer:
-You will analyse the business needs and create detailed and precise functional analyses.
-You will establish sustainable and easy to maintain solutions.
-You will regularly suggest improvement to development processes as well as for existing systems.
- You will have a critical view on existing solutions or those proposed by the architecture.
-You provide your help, in cooperation with the Project manager, in planning preparation and follow up.
-You prepare assume and follow-up the tests.
-You follow and coach the technical analysts and the programmers.
-You stay informed on new technologies.
