Our client, a provider within the Green Energy arena, are currently seeking a Control and Instrumentation Engineer (C&I) 



Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities



- Design and specification of the plant control and instrumentation system.

- Develop the technical specifications required based on performance requirements and work with the engineering project manager and wider project team to tender for sub-contract packages.

- Work with the electrical engineer to ensure a fully integrated electrical system.

- Work with sub-contractors to develop the functional design specification into an operating control system.

- Develop and agree the instrumentation and control systems specifications with process equipment sub-suppliers.

- Be part of the team developing and delivering the plant’s safety case, this will include participating in Hazops and leading LOPA analysis and SIL calculations.

- Contribute to the hazardous area assessment for ATEX/ DSEAR.

- Identify opportunities to improve the performance of the plant control system and reduce it’s cost.

- To ensure all projects that are delivered in a safe, healthy and environmentally compliant way.

- Work with the engineering project manager and provide detailed technical support to ensure the safe, timely delivery of plants that perform to the contract specification within budget; that are built for operation and built in accordance with the specification.

- Be part of the team commissioning the plant and other equipment as is appropriate for each individual project. This will involve extended periods on the project site.

- Provide support to the engineering project manager as required during the negotiation of project contracts to achieve financial close. 

- Provide support to the business development team during project development phase.



 Key Experience



Chartered Engineer, Degree or minimum HNC in electrical or control engineering



Experience of leading large electrical engineering projects with specific focus on control systems, instrumentation, automation and systems integration in accordance with UK and International standards.



Experienced in the design and specification of control and instrument systems in applications such as; large process or manufacturing plant; power generation or similar industries.



Knowledge of Siemens and Rockwell control systems



Candidates should have commercial experience and track record of achievement in one of the following industry sectors; power generation, waste treatment, chemical or gas process plants, energy recovery systems



Commissioning of complex process plant.
