Electrical Project Engineer - Windfarms

An Experienced Electrical Project Engineer is required to work for a company based in Manchester on Wind Farm projects. A permanent position working for a consultancy that specialises in Wind Farm and renewable energy solutions. A varied role that would involve travel to Ireland and working on a number of projects at various different stages in the life cycle. The experienced engineer will be required to work in a fast-paced environment managing projects whilst utilising their technical expertise. The client is an international market leader in renewable energy solutions and due to growth in the industry they require additional experienced engineers to join the business. The role itself will include international travel. Experts in the field they have projects spanning worldwide with a recognised name in the industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering a competitive £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits.

The position would best suit engineers with experience of Electrical Engineering and Project Management. You will need to have proven Electrical Engineering experience with Controls and High Voltage equipment. Experience with wind farm projects is not a necessity but would be advantageous.

The role will require frequent trips to Ireland during winter months, with less travel in warmer times of the year.

Experience working with National Grid Codes would be required, experience with Eirgrid grid codes would be very advantageous.

You will need to have:
  • A good team playing skills, someone who enjoys working with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to; design, plan, coordinate and execute complex tasks.
  • An understanding of HV and LV wiring systems
  • An understanding or SCADA control systems
  • Technical knowledge of the Irish and UK Grid code requirements
  • The ability to understand complex electrical drawings, and act as technical support to the service and project team. ( If you do not know the answer to a technical question you must need to be able to find the answer out independently)
  • An individual with good communication skills who is comfortable in front of customers and suppliers.
  • An ability to develop effective working relationships with the various decision makers within the relevant utilities.
  • An ambitious individual who is keen to take on new skills and develop their career and who is able to put in the time and effort required to develop into this role.
  • An individual who is able to travel as required by the role.
