Solaris Systems Administrator - Brussels
Skills and experience:
- Experience in Unix systems administration, preferably Solaris 10. In addition, knowledge of Linux will be advantage, in view of a migration of some systems onto Linux
- Experience in production systems running on a combination of Unix and Windows Servers, including systems utilities such as Oracle database, Networker backup and restore, Control-M automated job scheduling, Weblogic, Streamserve
- Experience of Network services including DNS, HTTP and Kerberos
- Experience in administration of integrated development environments and configuration management systems such as Rational Change Management
- Experience of backup/restore and configuration of Solaris Servers and zones
- Experience of troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Experience in documentation of technical procedures
Description of work:
The customer has a requirement for a Unix Systems Programmer within its Systems Support team, to take responsibility for Unix operating systems, utilities, middlewares and migrations of application developments.
Under the supervision of an internal systems engineer, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of Unix Servers and other tasks required for maintenance of operational systems.
