Description
We are supporting a Global Renewable Energy client in their search for a Fabrication Inspection Engineer their offshore wind farm project. Our client is looking for the Fabrication Inspection Engineer to be able to start this approx. 13 months freelance contract from 4th January 2016 and end by 31st January 2017, with the possibility of further extension. This is a full time role work hours will be 5 days per week, 8hrs in average with night and weekend work occurring. In this role the Fabrication Inspection Engineer will coordinate and supervisor activities during fabrication (quality control inspection).Responsibilities:
- Comply with the client's guideline standards and requirements
- Liaise with the Fabrication Manager on all quality matters and agree on inspection scope
- Inspect that the structural fabrication and mechanical systems (piping, crane, passive fire walls) is made in accordance with the clients requirements, specifications and standard in regards to fabrication of jacket and topside, sea fastening, offshore welding of topside module to the jacket structure
- Support the Fabrication Manager in monitoring the progress of contractor and their sub-contracting steel works and surface treatment
- Identify issues for certifying body inspections
- Identify interfaces, risk and report those to the Fabrication Manager
- Actively contribute to evaluation of the project and capture lessons learnt throughout the project
- 5 years practical, as well as theoretical experience, within offshore and/or steel construction or familiar with steel fabrication and inspection, NDT and coating such as: IWI/IWS International Welding, Inspector/Specialist, IWT/IWE International Welding Technical/Welding Engineer and Frosio light
