Solvency ii Accountant - London - £300 £340 per day 6 months

Qualified accountant or relevant experience

* Strong technical accounting capabilities
* Understanding of all areas under direct control
* Ability to work through other colleagues within and outside CAO team, including those from different disciplines
* Good interpersonal skills, in particular ability to deal and be credible with management
* Commercially astute, and able to translate between business actions and financial implications
* Strong written skills and ability to distil and communicate complex issues
* Sound judgement and ability to identify and articulate risks and opportunities in a balanced manner
* Strong prioritisation skills and ability to work with appropriate flexibility on multiple deliverables
* Highly proactive
* Proven track record of process delivery to a high standard
* Proven people management, including delegation and influencing
* Cultural and political awareness and ability to deal with people from different backgrounds
* Strong influencing skills across organisational and geographic boundaries
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, but also MCEV and related capital/regulatory/solvency requirements (including S2) desirable.
* Knowledge of S2 requirements not a prerequisite
* Strong controls focus to avoid financial misstatement and messaging errors.

Solvency I Reporting
* Manage delivery of the Group regulatory reporting requirements including:
- PRA returns, Solvency I disclosure in analyst pack and R&A
- Support to external reporting deliverables as required
- Production of Solvency I MI as required
* Ensure regulatory and group governance requirements are met

Solvency II Pillar 3 Reporting
* Own and manage the SII Pillar 3 reporting policies including interpretation and implementation of new regulatory and market requirements (actuarial input owned by Group Actuarial Reporting Director). Includes engagement of auditors/regulators where required.
* Monitor development of proposed reporting requirements and input to Aviva's lobbying position
* Manage the effective delivery of specific aspects of the internally and externally published Solvency II financial reporting deliverables including:
- Pillar 3 Qualitative Reporting Templates (QRT's)
- Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR)
- Regulatory Supervisory Report (RSR)
* Provide appropriate input to the external and internal financial reporting deliverables including:
- Annual Report and Accounts, Half year financial statements/Analyst pack including Q&A's, supporting analysis etc
- Ad-hoc public financial disclosure
- Support to Investor and rating agency presentations
* Provide high quality financial analysis to support both external and internal reporting.
* With Group Actuarial Reporting and Solvency II Reporting, lead point of contact between BU finance teams and the CAO function.
* Ensure regulatory, group governance and internal control requirements are met
