Description
A leading telecommunications company based in Newcastle are currently in need of an experienced Security/Firewall specialist. The candidate will assist with the refresh of the PVG internal network (LAN). This is a migration of the core network hardware to a new hardware stack whilst maintaining the majority of the current network layout. High level designs and architecture strategy are already in place. The primary work will be hands-on implementation and configuration with possibly some low level design work. The candidate will need SC clearance OR will need to be able to have SC clearance (UK citizen, clean record etc). This role is a long term rolling contract, paying a very competitive daily rate.The successful candidate would have experience in the following:
Basic Cisco ASA configuration (i.e. interfaces, channels, multiple contexts)
Using the Cisco Migration tool to convert Cisco FWSM configurations to be installed onto an ASA platform
Configure Cisco firepower management servers for IDS services
Configure Firepower on the Cisco ASA platform for IDS services
Would be helpful to have experience of working with SRMP
Racking and cabling Cisco switch stacks (3850 Series preferably, but not essentially)
Upgrading IOS on Cisco Switch stacks (3850 Series preferably, but not essentially)
Migrating configurations between different types of switches (Cisco 6500 series and 3850)
Layer 2 / 3 switch skills (including VRFs)
