Description

Experience Required:

Bursting with bright ideas and ambitious to bring about change, you'll fit right into our dynamic buying team. We'll give you the opportunity to take a strategic approach to buying, to carry out complex bid negotiations, and to manage multiple projects.

Working across one or more categories, you'll hone a range of commercial purchasing skills such as negotiation, project management and relationship management that will help you succeed, both in procurement and in a wide range of other business careers.

We're looking for energetic, results focused people with some experience of procurement. For opportunities in core business roles knowledge of a related area such as quantity surveying or construction would also be beneficial. A good appreciation of procurement processes, strategic sourcing and category management is essential for all roles. You'll also need the communication and negotiation skills to build productive relationships with customers and suppliers.
Experience of energy, utilities or regulated procurement would be helpful but is not essential, providing you are highly analytical and able to get to grips with new information quickly.

Essential Experience Required:
- 3-5 years experience required in a strategic sourcing requirement
- sourcing in a structured procurement environment
- formal negotiation
- Understanding of T&C's

Desirables (not essential):
- CIPS qualified
- Regulated procurement environment, Utilities Regulation/EU directives
- NEC Terms
We are not looking for someone who has a commercial role outside strategic sourcing, including; tactical/operational procurement, quality assurance professionals or sales personal with tender completion experience.

Plan Sourcing Projects and control progress
Strategic Sourcing, run structured procurement process with defined governance (eg 7 step process)

Ability to Negotiate, including running and planning negotiations

Key Tasks:
Deliver sourcing projects to achieve defined business goals and objectives, both financial and non-financial.
Sourcing requirements will include products, services and minor works. As well as sourcing new requirements through full tender process, there is also a requirement to run "mini tender" processes to call off services or works from existing framework agreements.
