A SQL Server DBA is needed to work for a global leader in Financial Services on an initial 3-6 months contract.
Working within the data services team the SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the planning, management and delivery of Infrastructure services. The SQL Server DBA will be part of a team responsible for design, development, support and maintenance of software based solutions that make up the clients 24/7 online infrastructure.
Key deliverables for the successful SQL Server DBA will be managing and maintaining the SQL Server database environments, ensure development and testing database environment are kept up to date, fulfil a 24/7 on-call function on a rotating basis, help set up database environments, troubleshooting and investigation of production system problems.
As the SQL Server DBA you will have the following experience:
* Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012.
* Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012.
* Understanding of database design and architecture
* SQL Server database mirroring, clustering, replication and AlwaysOn.
* T-SQL scripting and development skills.
Desirable experience for the successful SQL Server DBA includes:
* Powershell Scripting
* SQL Server experience
* Basic VMware vSphere knowledge
* Pentaho ETL or CA Workload Automation tools
* Spotlight for SQL Server Enterprise (or similar monitoring tools)
