Software Quality Engineer - Contract - Lockheed Martin

Location; Havant, Hampshire

The candidate will be expected to have general experience of software development and to have fulfilled a SQA role, preferably in a defence systems related environment. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TickIT Plus is also a pre-requisite. Knowledge of and experience auditing to ISO20000 and ISO27001 will be a distinct differentiator.
Skills and experience required for the Software Quality Engineer;
Have demonstrable experience of providing Software Quality Assurance, preferably in a defence related environment.
Preferably to have had hands on experience as a software engineer
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and Tick IT Plus, ISO20000 and ISO27001
Familiarity with Defence Standards is desirable
Qualified to degree level or equivalent or have a recognised software engineering qualification.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and work well in a team environment
A well-developed Customer Focus and commitment to Customer Satisfaction is essential.
Capability for security clearance to Secret is desirable
ITIL Experience/Trained
Sound commercial background and understanding of sound business judgement (eg cost/benefit, risk, etc.)
Education;
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience/combined education. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
Standard job description;
Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.
