Proteus Europe is currently searching for some skilled C/C++ Embedded Software Engineers for one of our clients who develop quality assured bespoke software engineering services across a variety of market sectors.The continued success of our client's consulting engineering team has led to an opening for an ambitious engineer to join an elite team where the skilful application of knowledge and expertise have enabled their customers to be first to market with their own products and allowed them to rapidly enter new and emerging markets.
Job Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated engineer to join an engineering team with some of the best technical minds in the industry, where there would be meaningful scope to enhance technical and engineering skills and knowledge across disciplines and sectors
Working closely with the senior engineering team you will be involved in the development and maintenance of real-time object oriented software components for products and systems on both commercial projects and occasionally on internal Software Systems product or systems.
The position is primarily based at our client's Hertfordshire office but may also involve working directly at their customer's facility from time to time.
This role would suit bright, self-motivated individuals who are capable of managing their time and resources well enabling them to make things happen and get the job done rapidly without compromising on the high standards of our clients Software Systems warrant.
Core Skills
The following are all key requirements for this position:
- A strong academic background with a degree in engineering, physics, computer science or mathematics from a reputable university
- Experience in a commercial software engineering capacity
- Experience of developing real-time embedded software using C/C++
- Experience developing Java or C#/.NET monitoring and control applications.
- Experience or knowledge of RTOS (VxWork, Embedded Linux, etc)
- Object Oriented Methodology
Additional (desirable) Skills
Any of the following would be an advantage:
- Experience of developing software using: C#, CORBA, Databases, Java, Perl
- TCP/IP, UML and/or Web Technologies (e.g. APACHE, SOAP, SSL, TOMCAT, XML).
- Experience of developing software for any of the following platforms: VxWorks, QNX, pSOS, UNIX API (e.g. Solaris, HPUX, *BSD, Linux), and/or Win32.
- Experience of developing software for any of the following microcontrollers: ARM, ATMEL, PIC, PowerPC, TI, AD, and/or X86.
