Description

On Behalf of my global Automotive OEM, I am looking for a Project Engineer for an initial 6 month contract position onsite within their Coventry offices.
The successful applicant will join the Powertrain Advanced Product Creation team to lead the early stages study of the new engine application in a wide vehicle line-up. The role offers an excellent opportunity to build-on and develop technical and commercial acumen whilst being at the forefront of Product Development in one of the world's most exciting and evolving premium car manufacturers.
This department is responsible for the definition of the Powertrain between the unit Kick Off up until the unit Program Strategy gateways. Key challenges within Powertrain APC Programmes are to ensure all future products have the correct system configurations to achieve market leading competitiveness with delivery on time and to budget within the attributes target, including the weight.
Key principles within the departments are:
*Support of the Powertrain organisation in meeting the needs for future products with proven technical feasibility (in terms of attribute status and design direction) and commercial readiness (meeting investment and material cost targets)
*Safeguard the quality of new programme deployment and technical solution generation through disciplined adherence to Product Creation System (PCS) process
*Be Embedded within Powertrain to ensure intrinsically linked from strategy to implementation
*Collaborative working with Vehicle, PT Systems Engineering, Package and Attribute programme teams as well as other Delivery departments to ensure a constructive resolution of cross-system configuration issues
*Continuously improve the Process and adapt it to the specificity of the Projects
Experience
. Customer oriented
- Good understanding of the attributes interaction and of the system engineering
- Ability to deliver with minimum supervision
- Ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues within a Project Team environment
- A good working knowledge of PCDS is essential
- Experience of working on Powertrain Systems within the Automotive industry
- Experience of Program/Project and Team management,
- Experience of Process improvement and team organisation build-up

3 KEY SKILLS: Team management Experience within vehicle engineering (package) or powertrain Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product'
