Rate:£260 -£410
Duration: 4 months (initially)
Job Description:
IntaPeople's client based in Leeds has an opportunity for a 2 Web Ops Engineers to join their team. Our client is keen to bring on engineers with both mid-level experience and mid- senior level experience. On a daily basis you will be required to:
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team of Agile Developers, Designers, and Analysts; operationally manage Linux servers, deliver complex web application stacks; build and configure new server platforms along with the automated tooling; testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems; supporting development teams with configuring applications for deployment; and dealing with application deployment strategies and continuous integration.
• Demonstrable Experience required: Configuring web and application servers; building and supporting a large production platform; debugging a complex multi-server service, scripting and basic programming; designing and supporting robust build, deployment and configuration management systems; administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers; unit testing and automated testing tools; use of Virtualization systems, Cloud computing, Networking concepts, technologies, and protocols.
• A strong technical foundation in build, release and environments as well as a familiarity with network protocols and common web application architectures is essential.
Experience Required:
• An understanding of common web application architectures.
• Experience in configuring and managing Linux servers for serving a dynamic website.
• Experience in debugging a complex multi-server service.
• Scripting or basic programming skills.
• Familiarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc.
• A strong technical foundation in build, release and environments.
• An eagerness to learn enough about whatever tools or tricks are needed to get the job done.
• Passion for and ability to design and support robust build, deployment and configuration management systems for multi-tier Java J2EE & .Net applications.
• Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Travis-CI, Go).
• Experience administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers (WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Nginx, Mongrel, Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTP server, etc).
• Some experience with unit testing and automated testing tools.
• Operations team experience.
• Virtualization systems experience (VMWare, Xen, etc).
• Networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, and DNS).
• Application deployment strategies and continuous integration.
• Knowledge or experience of the following software products -

• Axway Synchrony Transfer CFT for AIX Solaris Windows Linux 2.3.x
• BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 1.2
• Informatica PowerExchange 9.1
• Oracle Advanced Security 10.2.x, Oracle Application Server 10g 10.2.x
• Oracle Client 11g 11.2.x, Oracle Data Mining 10.2.x
• Oracle HTTP Server 11.1.x, Oracle Net Manager 10.1.x
