CTO - Power Electronics Engineer - 40-60k West Midlands

Power Engineer is needed within the Energy sector. This is a great role for an experienced engineer to join a company in an exciting period of growth working on cutting edge technologies.

As a Power Engineer you be involved in the projects at an early stage, from the design and development of the project to full implementation, within the Energy industry. As a Power Engineer you will have experience in the product development and management. You will have dealt with the whole product life cycle on other projects and have experience of concept through to implementation. This role will demand the right talent to be able to work on their own initiative, be innovative and during their careers built up a range of key skills.

As a Power Engineer specialising in power your main responsibilities will include:

* Conducting functional design; providing input to the evidence for acceptance and fitness for purpose

* The provision of evidence in support of qualification, legislative requirements and safety justifications; providing specialist support for any associated activities

* Producing outline functional system diagrams along with the preparation of design calculations to demonstrate designs meet performance requirements i.e. Load, Volt Drop, Fault Levels

* Power systems modelling analysis of the power distribution systems

* Assisting with the definition of qualification obligations for the assurance hold points during build, test and commissioning

* To present relevant technical information and argument clearly, logically and simply

* Working across project groups to ensure designs meet the required operability, safety, security and supportability requirements

As a Power Engineer specialising in power your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

* Prior Energy industry experience although we would also consider those with a background in defence, nuclear, aviation, construction, building services or similar

* The ability to manage, challenge and influence key stakeholders

* Experience in performing complex calculations to determine load and fault analysis

* Power system modelling using MATLAB

* Proficient in coding in Embedded C/C++
