Description
F5 Network Engineer/WAN enterprise required by my client a global energy organisation based in Crawley. The role is paying between £40k - £50k per annum + a excellent list of benefits and a healthy bonus.
What my client wants is an F5 BIG-IP expert who will be responsible for the initial build and setting up load balancing for the applications followed by configuration, administration, maintenance and support of this load balancing platform.
F5 Skills:
* Extensive experience in implementing and managing F5 BIG-IP Viprions and F5 Virtual Editions. In addition to load balancing, this includes GTM, APM, ASM, and custom iRule development.
* 3+ years of hands on experience with BIG-IP environment utilizing two or more of the following: GTM, LTM, AFM, APM, or ASM.
* Extensive experience with APM Including customizing GUI TCL configurations within APM.
* 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of large network consisting of Load balancing, WAN, LAN, and VPNs.
* Experience in configuring advance load balancing algorithm like (but not limited to) cookie persistence, priority group, etc.
* Experience with layer-2, layer-3, and/or layer-4 network protocols and technologies, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP, NFSv4.x, SMB etc.
* Detailed understanding of the OSI layer and routing concepts.
* Extensive experience in performing preventative maintenance, including the installation of hot fixes and version upgrades.
* Experience in configuring and managing F5 Web Accelerator module and Application Security Module (ASM) technology or with similar/competing ADC and Security product solutions.
* Extensive experience in implementing and configuring SSL certificates.
* Strong knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, RSA, DNS, Networking and security principles.
* Good understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP and FTP.
Duties and Accountabilities:
* Manage, administer, maintain and support F5 BIG-IP Chassis environments.
* Work with the respective teams to test, and deploy solution configurations on the load balancing platforms.
* Perform troubleshooting and issue resolution.
* Identify and manage dependencies with other systems and elements of the IT infrastructure.
* Help the project or program team prepare for milestones.
* Ensure developed applications and systems are transitioned to customers in a timely manner.
* Export/import, backup/restore load balancing and application policy configurations as needed.
