Essential Functions:

Saba Application and Environment Support:

  • Leads and coordinates the efforts of multiple groups to maintain system operations
  • Manage the relationship with business owners. Manage the intake, planning, and tracking of system enhancements and other support efforts. Collection and assist in the estimation of work effort, and track work budget and schedule.
  • Leads efforts to design, develop, and deploy enhancements to Learn, including both customizations to Saba and inbound and outbound interfaces. This role both performs these tasks and manages others in their performance.

Integrated Planning and Evaluation:

  • Participates in integrated systems planning and recommends alternative technologies that will enhance current or anticipated information systems that support overall corporate and business goals.
  • Develops plans for integration of new systems architecture into current infrastructure.
  • Leads review and design concept work for new systems and develops and documents technical design for solution integration and implementation.
  • Participates in post-live project activities; including evaluation of success criteria, identification of best practices, lessons learned, and strategies for future releases and deployments.
  • Provides technical direction and support recommendations for complex configuration projects.

Business Cases:

  • Participates in the development of strategic business cases with service and cost/benefit dimensions of proposed projects that are used at management and executive levels for funding and scope decisions.

Business Process Analysis:

  • Plans, coordinates and conducts the analysis of business processes and functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
  • Develops cross-initiative integration plans.
  • Identifies other initiatives that exist and ensures that efforts are not duplicated.
  • Consults on the integration of application systems into the work environment, regarding their operational and training implications.
  • Consults on business process reengineering.

Business Requirements:

  • Independently initiates, identifies and coordinates the analysis of complex business needs in the area of learning management systems, with a focus on Saba learning management. Business needs include support for new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.
  • Identifies opportunities for increasing business efficiency through improved manual and automated process systems.

Functional and Application Release Requirements:

  • Participates in the leadership of cross-functional and/or cross-divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications.
  • May establish cross-functional task forces.
  • Plans and coordinates application release requirements.

Development of Solution Recommendations/Alternatives:

  • Develops the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective solutions that support business processes and functional requirements and resource costs.
  • Evaluates existing applications that could address business partner requirements and develops recommendations where appropriate.
  • Evaluates alternative operational efficiencies.
  • Identifies opportunities for solution sharing and reuse.

Management of Business Relationship and Business Expectations:

  • Advises our business partners on the consequences of actions. Communicates risks and ensures understanding of these risks. Provides on-going communication.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum four years of related experience.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Saba Learning management v5.x or higher in an on-premise installation
  • Solid understanding of Saba architecture, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2008 or higher, Oracle 10g or higher, JBoss, Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with Saba patching and maintenance
  • Experience with SAML based SSO security
  • Experience with Saba content management architecture
  • Experience with content replication via Rsync
  • Experience support installation of Saba LMS in a clustered environment
  • Experience with F5 load balancing
  • Experience with the installation and maintenance of Crystal Enterprise reports server
  • Experience with the maintenance and monitoring of notification queues, including the clearing of queues, notification server configuration, and queue management.
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL development
  • Experience with data integration design, development, and support
  • Experience working at organizations of over 50,000 employees
  • Experience with custom web development in a Saba environment
  • Experience with the Saba Gatekeeper application
