Embedded C / Vision experts - 100% remote

Description

We are a seasoned and credible team building the first practical general-purpose home robot designed for unstructured "human" spaces. We are hiring engineers to develop the perception and autonomous manipulation components of our product.

About you
You are looking for the place to stretch yourself, to prove yourself, and aren’t afraid of a challenge. You are a self-starter with the motivation and skills to operate at a very high velocity on your own time in your own way.

How we work
We are a small team of high velocity engineers, each of us has world class skills in some area, and you do too. We are a 100% remote team and don't have the time or inclination to micro-manage your remote activities.

We will provide clear structure in the form of a network of very detailed milestones, and a daily agile/scrum style discipline, but you are the one that makes this loose arrangement work, because you step forward to grab the right next task, attack it in an effective way, and by reaching out to the right other teammates to get the job done.

Most of all you are motivated to be proactive, to figure out the ways forward, to propose them, to involve others, and to DO them! and of course you are motivated to build ROBOTS!

Requirements
We are hiring for multiple positions, but currently focused on Vision, Embedded development, and Bayesian algorithm development.

Embedded C-Programmer:
You love working on the metal and have experience with sensors, motors, and other devices. You have a proven track record of delivering ideas into working prototypes at high velocity. You've architected some serious systems and may have even been a team lead. Desired experience:

Embedded & C-programming experience required

2+ years commercial experience is preferred, robotics experience even better!

An understanding of electronics is advantageous

Experience in designing and implementing either hardware and software APIs is advantageous

Team lead / management experience is a plus.

Computer Vision Expert:
You have a background in Computer Vision algorithms (Machine Learning algorithms a plus), with the ability to implement them. Critically, you know when to apply best practice and when to roll your own solution. You will own the Vision code base. Desired experience:

2+ years practical experience building Vision based systems

Familiarity with many Computer Vision libraries (e.g. OpenCV, ...)

You have a strong knowledge of Computer Vision algorithms and how to implement them.

Team lead / management experience is a plus.

Image Processing:
You will develop algorithms and software to analyze and process image data using statistical methods and/or machine learning. You get excited about pushing the envelope, using your image processing skills to let robots interact with real environments in ways that the world has not seen before. Desired experience:

2+ years direct experience in imaging processing, preferably with experience in real-time processing.

Proficient in both C/C++ and MATLAB or similar tools.

Experience with machine learning and classification is a big plus

Experience with fusion of data from multiple sources is a big plus.

Experience with non-image signal processing (such as adaptive equalizer experience) is a big plus

All three roles
These roles permit flexible working hours and are 100% remote. You will be working alongside founders, researchers and engineers to design, build and market the first general-purpose consumer robot.
