Job descriptionHigh level task description:
*Part of Infrastructure & Operations, a highly dynamic team of dedicated subject matter experts managing a complex server farm
*Responsibilities include:
oDeveloping and enforcing database administration and user standards and procedures
oAssisting with the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication
oAnalysing and reporting database performance in compliance with service level agreements set by the company
oIdentifying and resolving all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are online and without service interruption; maintain the database disaster recovery environments and backup plans
oParticipating in monitoring, testing, and performing recovery operations with stored and archived data and images using network storage devices.
oDocumenting database environments and infrastructure changes
oProviding ongoing system support for database engineering and configuration
oReviewing technical designs, reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff
oEvaluating and recommending enhancements to increase application efficiency, capacity, and responsiveness to users
oSupporting day to day operational duties for the database platform such as service requests and tickets, backups, monitoring, performance tuning, system troubleshooting, and other tasks as assigned or expected
*Other responsibilities include:
oCoaching & guiding more junior profiles
oRegular reporting to the Operations Manager
oSupport other technical teams and participate in project implementation when necessary
Technical & Functional Skills
*Minimum 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration and data warehousing in a corporate environment
*Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition and later, and understanding of Microsoft Server administration and TCP/IP
*Expertise of SQL 2012 & 2014 is a HUGE plus
*Experience with Oracle 11g/12c
*Ability to write complex T-SQL Queries and Stored Procedures
*Familiarity with SSIS packages - both writing and on-going execution
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
*Highly Desirable: ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*Results oriented, energetic and self-motivated
