Description

Vector Media Group is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer in the New York City area to join our team immediately for a 3 month contract position.

We’re a growing interactive agency of 35 people in Manhattan's Flatiron District with great clients (like The Associated Press, Nielsen, New York City, St. Regis, and WPP) and an incredible roadmap.

This is a wide-ranging position with varying responsibilities. You will be focused on coordinating HTML/CSS/JS work from our other front-end developers, engineering more advanced functionality on that HTML/CSS markup, and working with our backend developers to integrate the front-end templates with application logic. We’re seeking a candidate that is talented in HTML/CSS/JS, and is comfortable working around backend code and frameworks.

A typical day for you will include a mix of the following tasks:

  • Iterating on frontend HMTL/CSS/JS, and integrating it with backend code.
  • Coordinating with the frontend development team on the overall direction of frontend code development, including framework and library choices, optimization techniques, and best practices.
  • Working directly with the backend development team that is creating REST interfaces, templates/views, and data structures for you to integrate with
  • Writing and tweaking automated build scripts to ensure source files are compressed and optimized for usage on the web
  • Communicating with clients to understand their vision, and with our technical leads to advise on technical feasibility and recommend implementation strategies
 Required skills:
  • Expert knowledge of modern frontend technologies, best practices, and load speed optimization techniques
  • Strong opinions on modern frontend development, including pattern libraries, atomic design, responsive web development, etc.
  • Broad understanding of the web development process
  • Ability to work with and coordinate other developers on the FE team
  • Experience with version control tools, such as Git
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
Benefits
  • Flexible hours
  • Lunch paid for by the company, every day, via your own Seamless account
  • Potential for full-time employment after the contract is up.

    Our full-time employees receive:
  • Paid vacation
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Retirement plan with company matching
  • Perks and discounts from many stores and services-- cell phone bills, hotels, rental cars, gyms, etc...
