Senior Systems Engineer - Requirements Management, Oracle, DOORS
A Senior Systems Engineer with Requirements Management, Oracle and DOORS experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.
This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK Defence Business.
Overview of the Senior Systems Engineer contract role
A System Design Engineer is required for the clients Engineering Support Subsystem (ESS) System Design Team, focussing on phases 0 to 4 of the Development Life Cycle. Primary responsibility will be to maintain design and documentation requirements for the ESS application, this may also be extended to supporting additional capabilities and projects from initial concept to implementation.
The ESS is an information System with Oracle RDBMS and client software developed using MS Visual Studio. In addition; associated products and product variants exist for which the system Design team are also responsible.
Key skills required for the Senior Systems Engineer
- Experience of design in information systems
- Experience of relational databases such as Oracle and IBM Rational Products would be useful but not essential.

- DOORS
The ESS product uses the following technologies; Oracle RDBMS, COM, VBS, Visual C++, C#, OO implementation, XML and NET on a windows OS platform.
The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
