Description

Job purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Quality, the Quality Engineer will manage the required Quality Engineering controls within both Customer deliverable and internal Design projects. These shall include the compilation of project specific Quality Plans, Test Plans, FAI's, support to TRR's, QRR's, PDR/CDR's, and PRR's. The position will also be responsible for the ongoing surveillance of at applicable project subcontractors and suppliers.

Main duties & responsibilities:

1.To develop and implement project and product specific quality documentation
2.To manage and resolve customer complaints, issues and concerns through reporting, containment, initial and longer term solutions, including preventive action.
3. To liaise with Engineering and project managers in order to identify and implement customer focused continual improvement.
4. To maintain customer related key performance indicators and measures.
5. To manage project/product development through to and including FAIRS.
6. To act as a primary contact within the Quality Team for customers projects
7. To ensure customer is kept updated and informed regarding customer reported issues
8. To support the Head of Quality on any other Q. Engineering related activities

Experience*Extensive industrial experience as a customer facing Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment within a UK Defence Company
*Knowledge of High value, low volume manufacturing.
*Experience in Project documentation, Quality Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Safety Plans, Environmental Plans
*Experience of using FMEA & 8D.
*Presentation of data and identifying problem areas through analysis
*Focus on defect prevention
*Demonstrable ability to manage and coach teams and partnership working across other functions.
