Spatial Data Specialist - 6 Month Contract - Edinburgh - Basic Disclosure Scotland Required
As part of the Data Management practice of the Information Services Division (ISD) in AFRC, the Spatial Data Management Team receives, manages, maintains and delivers spatial data sets to a range of customers, both inside and outside AFRC.
The specific responsibilities are:
*Design, refine, follow and monitor procedures for transforming, storing, cataloguing and distributing data, and for correcting data integrity and quality.
*Use a variety of specialist geospatial software to achieve the above tasks
*Monitor the performance of the above tasks, and solve and repair issues when appropriate
*Configure and monitor the use of specialist geospatial software
Essential
*Advanced/knowledge experience with FME - including FME server & batch processing
*Oracle Spatial Experience, SQL experience
*Knowledge of GIS desktop packages (ESRI/QGIS preferred)
*Experience of Open Source geo stack and configuring this - particularly GeoServer, GeoNetwork
This role requires candidates to have a valid Basic Disclosure Scotland certificate.
