Description

You will occupy a design, lead role, or leading edge, technology solution, development role. You will manage end-to-end rapid solution designs, to address business issues with the architecture lead and work directly with the system owner, on an iterative process to develop and implement urgent solutions.

You will be responsible for the development and integration of new or existing technologies into business operations, within short time scales, or in an iterative fashion. You will serve as a first point of contact, between Application Engineering and the Business, working with the business to prioritize technology needs.

Objectives/Results

  • Complete Current State assessments of business service, application and technical services
  • Create service-oriented, Reference Architectures
  • Rationalize current state to strategic architecture
  • High level and low level designs, to onboard services to the Service Management Catalog
  • Request fulfillment, Change Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management ITIL processes
  • ServiceNow ITSM utilization
  • Translation of business and technical requirements into application modules
  • Design specifications for developing and integrating programs
  • Cross-functional systems testing and relevant documentation
  • Project deliverables that meet businesses requirements, audit/control requirements and are aligned with business and technology strategies
  • Create implementation plans

Responsibilities

  • Provide technology and business expertise to ensure integration of appropriate technologies into business operations
  • Research emerging IT products, services, processes and methodologies
  • Partner with the business and relevant areas to ensure that technology solutions are in line with the overall strategy
  • Liaise with the architecture team and ensure that all solutions are aligned to architecture plans and specifications
  • Establish and maintain working relationships across all businesses and between technology team members
  • Review technology drivers, needs and IT strategies with senior technology professionals and businesses
  • Act as the main contact between the business and the Application Engineering team to support business needs
  • Participate in project planning sessions with to analyze Business IT requirements
  • Translate business and technical requirements into application modules
  • Develop software application modules, using disciplined software development processes relevant for fast development timescales
  • Make complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high-level specifications, application support and industry standards
  • Work in conjunction with the testing team to test and implement cross-functional systems you have developed or modified, ensuring the system meets business needs
  • Engage with third-party software vendors on support issues.
  • Provide ongoing development maintenance of applications or tools, until accepted into Service Delivery
  • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of user issues
  • Adhere to Application Engineering guidelines, processes and procedures
  • Review and sign off all systems analysis, development, modification, integration, maintenance and support activities for projects under management
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and promote leverage of successful products and processes
  • Proactively support knowledge sharing and regularly hold information sharing sessions
  • Identify potential jeopardy of project schedule and identify/mitigate risk
  • Provide input into project management team on individual performance
  • Promote teamwork in problem resolution

Desired Skills & Experience

  • College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience: typically requires 3 to 7 years of solution design or programming/systems analysis work experience
  • Strong knowledge of the relevant business area(s) required
  • Experience or understanding of multiple programming languages, systems, as well as solutions design and project management methodologies required
  • Business requirements analysis, quality process leadership, strategic technology planning and systems thinking
  • Client satisfaction metrics consulting and customer service orientation
  • Logical thinking and thoroughness
  • Information Architecture knowledge, systems engineering, systems integration, systems/unit testing and systems design
  • Programming languages, software package knowledge, hardware knowledge and foundation architecture knowledge
  • Logical data modelling and risk management
  • ServiceNow experience
  • Proven application rationalization experience
  • Ability to create Reference Architectures, Design Documents and SOA Roadmaps
  • SLDC (Waterfall and Agile), TOGAF 9; ITIL v.3 2011 and Cobit 5
  • Develops partnerships and uses commercial thinking to drive value
  • Builds and maximizes individual and team capabilities
