(Tank Recruitment, 6 months, Java, System Designer, Netherlands, 12 Months, Contract)
Main Duties
The Consultant will support the programming, testing and maintenance of the Java-based JChat project.
Essential Skills and Experience
* A minimum of two years' experience in the implementation of information systems,
* Detailed knowledge and recent experience (aminimum of 12 months in the last 24 months) in the following areas:
* Java programming language (including object-oriented programming). This includes detailed knowledge of the J2SE 1.6, 1. 7 and 1.8 platforms and its main packages. A Java Certified Programmer certificate received in the last 12 months is acceptable for this requirement.
* Swing programming interface (including Java look& feel)
* Design of Graphical User Interfaces in Java Swing including the building of
* Java thick-client applications
* Knowledge on the JAVA multi-thread concepts e. Application of frameworks and design patterns
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms (sufficient to perform the
* Programming tasks on that platform)
* Practical experience in the following areas is desired
* Software development based on the Smack XMPP framework v3.2 and above.
* Software development based on the JIDE GUl framework v2.5 and above.
* Working with software with a large codebase
* Configuration Control to software releases/production
* Using Integrated Development Environments and source code control tools
* Working in a software development team
* Writing technical documentation (requirements, design, and architecture) as related to the software development project.
Essential Qualifications
University Degree in informatics, computer science or a closely related engineering field
Language Skills
Good English oral and writing skills. Most of the work is conducted in the English language.
Security Clearance
NATO Security Clearance or National Equivalent
