Description

Smartsourcing are looking for a Security Architect for 12 months based in the North West. Start date Jan/Feb 2016 - for 12 months. Rate 500 per day. Sector- Public Sector. Deadline for CVs Friday 18th December at 4pm

Skills/experience:
The Security Architect is required to work in a UK Government environment. Recognised architectural qualification such as CCP Security Architect, SABSA, TOGAF or Zachman. Experience of working with Cloud based technologies. Must be capable of working at a senior level. Good communication skills are essential and solid competencies in areas such as communicating with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver a quality service. Ideally government experience. Proven ability in embedding security requirements on large complex IT platforms. Managing assurance activity, such as due diligence reviews and penetration tests with multiple suppliers/multiple stakeholders.

Technical Specialisms
We are looking for people with deep expertise in one or more of the below areas, from a security perspective:
Recognised architectural qualification such as CCP Security Architect, SABSA, TOGAF or Zachman. Cloud Computing (Private Cloud, Public Sector Cloud) Transaction processing platforms (Java, Cobol, Tuxedo, Oracle, Postgres). Interface/integration technologies (File, SOA and API based). Bespoke Middleware Linux and VMWare Application migration and re-platforming Application life cycle management (configuration management, continuous integration, defect management, DevOps).

Main duties and responsibilities:
Take responsibility for managing and updating data models, data architecture, data dictionaries, configuration and reference data catalogues. Work with business leads to identify and document data and reporting requirements. Design and maintain data models and manage data integration, performing data quality analysis and profiling tasks. Track business requirements and ensure that these can be matched from a data perspective. Take ownership of data related design decisions throughout the delivery process, including selection of tools to support data architecture activities. Ensure that data-specific project activities align technically and that the architecture is consistent from a data perspective. Ensure compliance with data related standards and key architectural principles. Manage stakeholder expectations and deliver complex IT projects to tight deadlines.
