Position Description and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs specialized financial, accounting or planning activities following general project or departmental guidelines, procedures and precedents in support of various financial functions such as budgeting, financial planning, investments, forecasting, capital expenditures programs and consolidations. Conducts assigned moderately complex financial studies and surveys to collect summarize and analyse financial actions by performing the following duties.

Principal Responsibilities

Performs specialized financial, accounting or planning activities following general project or departmental guidelines, procedures in support of various financial functions such as budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditures programs, financial planning and consolidations. Conducts assigned financial studies and surveys to collect, summarize and analyze financial actions. Assists in preparing recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action. Provides basic interpretation and application of corporate financial policies, accounting theory that may require a more in-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices and application. Evaluates and analyses standard capital expenditures proposals, investment opportunities, operating records, financial statements, sales forecasts. Prepares special studies, reports, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasting, capital expenditures, financial plans, government requirements, statistical reports and business/sales forecasts. Evaluates complex profit/loss plans, operating records and financial statements. May give functional advice and guidance to less seasoned employees. May represent function in meetings with other functional areas, both within and outside the company, to resolve mutual problems, implement new methods, procedures or budgetary controls. Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate courses of action. Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Skills Required
Knowledge of more advanced accounting/financial concepts, practices and techniques. Knowledge of PC's and associated software and relational database packages. Good written and oral English communication skills.

Qualifications Required
BA or equivalent in accounting or finance; and related experience and/or training, Master's degree and two to four years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
