Description

Beacon Hill Technologies has a 1 year contract opportunity for a Jr/Mid Level UX Designer.

In addition, this candidate also will demonstrate a great capacity for listening, the ability to explain in concise and clear ways, and an aptitude for facilitating constructive collaboration. This individual will excel at providing both analytical as well as creative ideas to solve for design challenges.

This individual will play a prominent role in the university's campus-wide web content management initiative. Specifically, the UX Designer will coordinate with schools and units regarding their existing web presence and opportunities for improvement. This individual will conduct site and content audits of existing pages, processes that include reviewing and analysing existing website content, assessing existing site traffic and navigation, and making recommendations regarding content, organization, and layout. The individual also will ensure that all updated sites meet the university's standards for branding, design and presentation.

The individual will work with the client to organize content and develop site maps and page structures within pre-defined templates, balancing client and user needs. In addition, the individual will help develop content strategy and plans based on project objectives and user needs, and will work with clients to ensure sites are migrated in a timely manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience working with clients
  • Comfortable presenting to groups
  • Experience with creating wireframes and site maps
  • Skilled in managing timelines and keeping track of projects.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines/fast turnaround times
  • Understanding of information architecture
  • Strong attention to detail,
  • Experience using Google Analytics to improve site performance
  • Proficient in OmniGraffle or comparable program
  • Facility with user experience/user interface best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Background in web marketing, communications or technical fields a plus
