Oracle Developer contract - InsuranceRole: Oracle Developer
Duration: 6 months daily rate contract

A leading Insurance company are looking to add a Senior Oracle Developer to their project team for a 6 month contract with a high possibility for extension beyond this. The role is joining a multi-disciplined engineering team comprised of both Oracle and Java developers, both onshore and offshore. I recently placed the manager of this team so know the role inside and out.
Sr. Oracle Database Developer * Writing and analysing Oracle PL/SQL code; (Packages, Triggers, Functions and Procedures, Materialized Views) * Unit test, documentation, code review; * Performance tuning, including SQL query optimization; * Debugging in development and production environments; * Leverage Oracle 10g/11g features to their fullest on a large-scale multi-terabyte system; * Participate in project work groups with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to understand data specific needs; - participate in performance tuning activities; * Provide production deployment and production support as needed. * Mentor and guide other team members in the proper use of these tools and technologies, including developing, recommending, and communicating their best practices.
Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering or related area; * A minimum of 5 years' experience in designing, creating and developing database systems using Oracle 10/11g databases. * Strong programming/development skills in writing and analyzing SQL and PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) * Strong SQL development, SQL analytics and tuning skills; * Solid experience designing partitioned and non-partitioned tables, indexes, temporary tables and external tables to maximize storage and performance; * Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills plus communication; * Experience in using database development tools like TOAD, SQL Developer * Experience with Agile/Scrum very desirable. * Knowledge and Experience of standards and practices in the Insurance industry
