SQL VBA Developer
An exciting and high profile opportunity has arisen for an experienced VBA/SQL Developer to join an established Development & Support Team within Finance Business Services (FBS).
The team (PC D&S) are part of the Systems Management team within the FBS based in Bristol. The FBS play a key role in supporting the bank, Divisional and Group Finance teams through the following shared services:
* Systems Management
* Accounting Operations
* Data Management
* Controls
* Reporting Shared Services
* Customer Engagement and Support PC D&S is responsible for developing and supporting business developed applications and already supports more than 150 applications across Finance. The applications are predominantly ACCESS database front ends, with extensive use of VBA, and a mix of ACCESS and SQL back ends. Key responsibilities of the role:
1. Support key Finance projects, building business solutions and ensure that these are implemented to agreed timescales.
2. Develop and update business solutions to support process improvement initiatives.
3. Provide support to current business solutions.
4. Ensure that development standards and conventions are adhered to.
5. Ensure that all requests are dealt with promptly, and prioritised where necessary.
Skills: VBA/VB Programming (using Microsoft Access/Excel would be preferable)
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Access/Excel functionality SQL Server Programming (creating stored procedures using DDL/DML etc) Providing excellent Customer Service Team Working Analytical skills
Excellent oral/written communication
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in VBA programming creating end user solutions. Minimum 5 years experience in SQL Server programming.
