Description

An Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer is needed to join a leading technology company based in Stockport. They are involved in a number of different project some in the scientific industry.

The company carry out all development in-house, and this would be to help with the team and to help implement software and electronics design.

Core skills and responsibilities for the role include:-

* Responsible for the software aspects of design and the successful integration with all software and firmware.

* Liaising with customers, suppliers, sales and installation teams as well as all in-house staff.

* Improve efficiency of the software design process, including fully testing and control of releases.

* Leading software design reviews as required to review ideas and schemes from other engineers and contractors. Key Skills: * Embedded C/C++

* Knowledge of RS485, MODBUS, CANBUS, PROFIBUS protocols (As many as possible)

* Good customer facing skills

* Degree or equivalent in software engineering or a relevant discipline

Desirable Skills:

* Linux Kernel Development

* Familiarity with Robotics and Machine Interface

* Real Time Systems
