Electrical Design Engineer: Utilities Provider (Bristol)
An Electrical Design Engineer is required to join a successful Utilities provider based in Bristol

A permanent position offering £40,000 - £50,000 + Car + Bonus

The client, an award winning infrastructure organisation specialises in providing technical consultancy services to a range of companies with utility connections. Covering design, project management and consultancy services across the whole of UK they are in an increasing demand within the dual fuels market. They are viewed as experts in utility connections and services and as a result have received a number of awards and achievements for their excellence and outstanding results. Working as part of a team you will be able to contribute to the growth of the business and also reap the rewards through bonuses offered.

The position would best suit professionals seeking to advance their career with:
  • Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline.
  • Relevant design and costing experience in the utility sector.
  • Knowledge of the CDM Regulations, E.S.Q.C. Regulations and N.R.S.W.A.
  • Knowledge of ISO09001, ISO14001 & ISO018001
  • Knowledge of Technical Specifications of equipment, substations, cables & plant
  • Understanding of site environment
  • Knowledge Electricity networks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills


Key tasks undertaken as part of this Electrical Design Engineer role include:
  • Managing the design through to project lifecycle, to the highest quality and standards.
  • Design electricity utility networks for housing and industrial & commercial developments
  • Working closely with our Business Development team and Project Managers to compile project bids.
  • Proactively taking and promoting our unique offer for utility infrastructure services to our customers.
  • Conducting site visits and meeting with customers, therefore excellent customer management skills (internal and external) are essential.
  • Working effectively within an established team and understanding how to manage customer expectations at all levels.


You will need to be a self-starter with a proven track record delivering quality solutions on time and on budget. Within this role you will have the opportunity to share in the rewards of the business whilst being able to maintain autonomy and responsibility for projects delivered.

The client is seeking an individual that wants to learn and develop themselves within a fast paced environment. Industry and level of experience is not essential as up to £20,000 of professional training courses will be give to the selected candidate.
