Job Role: Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Dorset

Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £40 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Clearance: BPSS Clearance

Supplier Quality Engineer - Contract - Dorset - £40 per hour

Our Client, a large aerospace engineering organisation are looking for a number of Supplier Quality Engineers to be based in Dorset. Responsible for improving Supplier Quality performance and ensuring adherence to Quality Management System requirements. This will involve driving root cause analysis and the on-going development of increased supplier capability.

Core responsibilities:

  • Drive supplier quality management in line with company control procedures, and relevant regulatory standards eg AS/EN 9100/EASA Part 21(G)/145
  • The day to day activities will be focused on FAIR and NCR (non-conformance Reporting) activities associated with Conformity, covering Mechanical, Composite and Electrical components and assemblies
  • Drive prioritised supplier non-conformance management and root cause analysis. Engage with the Suppliers and establish root cause analysis and compliance issues.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance for new and existing suppliers including, source inspections. First Article Inspection sign-off and change control process management
  • Supplier assessments in accordance with AS/EN 9100/EASA Part 21(G). First Article buy-offs in accordance with AS 9102 Rev B. Processing Concessions Management of concessions for non-conforming parts. Expensed travel may be required to visit Suppliers, so a driving licence is essential. A pool car may also be available.

Essential Skills:

  • Recent aerospace experience is essential Recent working knowledge and experience of AS9102 Understanding of key aerospace Quality Standards AS/EN 9100/EASA Part 21(G)/145 and NADCAP
  • Proven experience of driving root cause analysis with Suppliers
  • Proven background in Quality Assurance and thorough understanding of Quality tools and techniques
  • Good technical engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach
  • Professional conduct and good communication skills to influence both internally and externally. Experience of SmartTeam (or other Project Lifecycle Management tools) is desirable.

You will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.
