Senior Avionics Design Engineer - 6 months Contract - Dorset - Fantastic Rates!
Our Client, a large aerospace engineering organisation are looking for a Senior Avionics Design Engineer to be based in Dorset. Our client are currently working on a number of long-term programmes and need to recruit additional heads to support this activity where the post holder will be fully involved with designing avionic and electrical modifications to these special mission aircraft and their role equipment.
Key responsibilities:
- Taking ownership for the total avionic design elements of a task or project
- Liaising with customer, interfacing sections, departments as briefed
- Instigating and attending design review meetings, plus attending planning meetings and contract progress meetings as required
- Working in conjunction with Avionics CVE with particular reference to compliance with all procedures and standards
- Liaising with equipment suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Answering Works Queries from Cobham Maintenance and Production organisations
- Design follow up to in-service failures, malfunctions, and defects
Skills/Experience:
- Strong Avionics and Electrical design background AutoCAD or AutoCAD
- Electrical experience for producing wiring diagrams is essential, Sound knowledge of avionics integration would be beneficial
- Strong teamwork skills and a track record of delivering to a programme
- Good knowledge of regulatory requirements related to design HND/foundation degree, degree in aeronautical or electrical and electronic engineering or equivalent
- EMC/HIRF Experience would be advantageous
- Special Mission experience would be beneficial
- Ability to work unsupervised as necessary AutoCAD experience is an absolute must have skill
- Experience with Catia version 4 or 5 is highly desirable
- Experience of AutoCAD Electrical would be desirable, but is not essential
