Database AdministratorMy client, A market leading software house is urgently seeking an enthusiastic, team orientated graduate with 12 to 18 months' of Oracle Database Administration experience to join their in house Solutions Architect Team.
Candidates will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the Oracle database architecture and associated DBA activities including new server installations, database creation and patching, backup and recovery methodologies and problem diagnosis.
The role is ideally suited to candidates who have undertaken such tasks on a partial basis with their current employer but are now looking for a specialist position, or somebody wishing to move to make their first career move.
The successful candidate will join a team of five Database Administrators / Solutions Architects reporting to Solutions Architect Manager and be responsible for installing and administering Horizon and the associated Technical Platform for both SaaS and on premise customers.
The role is highly process driven with all tasks adhering to ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) and ISO 9001 Quality Management control frameworks.
Core Skills / Experience
Oracle Database Administration within a development or production environment
Oracle SQL (DML and DDL) and PL/SQL (Functions, Procedures, Packages, variables) scripting
Ability to multi-task / prioritise tasks effectively
Proven track record of working with Internal and External Customers
Proven track record of working within a team on process driven, time critical tasks
Core Technical Platform
Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g or 12c
Additional Technical Platforms
In addition to Oracle, Horizon utilises a mixture of the following technologies in which the successful candidate will receive training as necessary:
Microsoft Windows 2012 R2
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 8.5
Microsoft SharePoint 2013
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (RDBMS, Reporting Services and Integration Services)
Horizon product specific DBA utilities
