Description

Harvey Nash is recruiting for an exciting new contract opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a large public sector client for an initial 5 month contract in Edinburgh. The role will be a part time position working 3 days per week (ideally Monday to Wednesday).

The purpose of the role is to support the Chief Accountant in managing the processing, collection and reconciliation of tax returns, the production of management accounts, the production of statutory accounts and various reconciliations required.

The suitable candidate will hold the following skills and experience:

. Fully qualified accountant (or equivalent)
. The ability to complete reconciliations
. Experience of the preparation of statutory accounts
. The ability to work closely with auditors when required
. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office
. A good general understanding of IT systems
. Knowledge land and building transactions tax and Scottish landfill tax legislation would be desirable.

Due to the nature of the role with this public sector client, all applicants will hold, or be willing to apply for a Disclosure Scotland Certificate at the start of the application process.
