Description

We are currently looking for software engineers with experience of developing ETL solutions utilising Pentaho Data Integration toolsets.

The role is being offered on an initial 5 month contract with daily rates of £450 - £470 and will be based in Telford, West Midlands.

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of new and enhancements to existing systems
  • Carrying out software development in accordance with the agreed requirements and development standards (definitions of done)
  • Testing of products in accordance with the test strategy to ensure that they are fit for purpose
  • Analysis of enhancement and project requests and support to impacting (estimation) process.
  • Participation Sprint based delivery as a member of a SCRUM team, reporting progress through daily Scrum meetings and use of collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Management and control of problems and change within their area of responsibility

Required Technical Skills:

  • Pentaho data integration toolsets
  • SQL
  • Unix
  • Informatica
  • Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem
  • Maestro (TWS)
  • Pentaho Developer

Desirable Business Skills:

  • Awareness of professional code configuration management and version control (eg via use of PVCS)
  • Experience of working in a quality focused organisation and adherence to process
  • Agile (SCRUM) delivery experience
  • Agile techniques (Continuous Integration, xtreme programming, SCRUM process/ceremonies)
  • ETL development experience utilising an alternative toolset (eg Informatica)
