Description
We are seeking a solution architect/designer to join our Healthcare IT team. We have an exciting and high profile portfolio of programmes to deliver to support and grow our Healthcare business. You will be supporting this by designing the most appropriate solutions for our business, choosing the most appropriate and cost effective technologies to meet the business requirements and ensuring that your designs align with the overall architecture roadmap.
You will work closely with Healthcare Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Business users and sometimes Development teams. This is a hands-on role - you will be expected to roll your sleeves up and take ownership of High Level Designs and Detail Level Designs. You will have a strong technical background with development experience. You will be passionate about the contribution IT can make to the business. The work will be short and fast paced - possibly working on more than one project at a time, while waiting for review comments etc.
Experience of working within a Healthcare IT and/or IT function within Opticians, Pharmacies, Care Homes, Hospitals or Local Health Services would be advantageous.
Initial Work There are a number of work packages from the business area, including support for a mobile trial, CRM/Salesforce evaluation, Disaster Recovery design for a Legacy SQL Server system, Rework of a Business Objects solution, plus other designs which involve SAP solutions.
All about the role In the role you will be required to translate business functional and non-functional requirements into the most appropriate and cost effective solution designs. Influence stakeholders by presenting ideas and agreeing solutions.
Some of the key tasks that you'll get involved with are:
Designing enterprise scalable systems
High and detailed level application and data design
Working with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects and Business Analysts to understand the business functional and non-functional requirements
Interface definition and Integration design, including transformation/mapping
Security and Service design
Awareness of Agile development
Software configuration management
Previous experience of software build processes
Application release management processes
Infrastructure design, including VMWare, RedHat Linux or Microsoft Server 2008
Be able to drawing upon resources from across Boots IT, partners and 3rd parties

TOGAF 9.1 and ArchiMate 2.1
UML
This is a long term requirement and requires someone with the above skill set to come on board and get the project on the go.
