Maam, maternity as a master, is an online learning start-up that transforms the experience of maternity leave in an opportunity for professional growth.We are growing and looking to hire a software developer to help us add new features and refine existing ones.
The platform is built on top of WordPress with very few select plugins and lots of custom development. Broad tasks you might work on are:
- Improve the the forum experience (we're using bbPress) by adding image upload feature, reply by email, better email subscriptions
- Improve the learning experience by adding new question types/inputs to the platform
- Improve the user system by creating better registration pages
- Improve the custom dashboard to monitor key metrics (user registrations, levels of engagement, etc.)
- Integrate with 3rd party tools such as Intercom (CRM)
I'm Giacomo, the product manager and designer. I would take care of scoping and designing these broad tasks together with you. We would discuss and prioritize together the tasks. Sometimes we could evaluate the use of a plugin as a starting point. In some cases I would also write the markup+css for you, so that you can focus on backend tasks (JS/PHP). Also I've wrote the existing codebase and I'll guide you through it until you'll become familiar.

This is a 100% remote work. We'll communicate through Skype video calls, chat and Github.
Level of engagement
We'd like to have you for at least 3 months part-time (15-30 hours a week). If you think the project is interesting please get in touch even if you'd like more/less hours a week - we're flexible on that.
