ILS Engineer

Whitehall Resources currently require an ILS Engineer for a project based in Dorset

Role Summary:

Logistic Support Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, Through-Life Support planning, Supportability (including Human Factors) Engineering, Integrated Support Planning, Lifecycle costing (LSA/LSAR) including Direct Maintenance Cost modelling, Availability/Reliability/Maintainability (FMEA/FMECA/MTTR), technical publications (review and composition) including Illustrated Parts Lists, FRACAS/Failure Review Boards, configuration management (including NATO stock numbering), Requirements derivation for Systems Engineering.

Principal Accountabilities:

RCM/MSG-3 analysis, initial spares provisioning, design interface requirements, related support discipline interface management, report writing and findings presentation both to internal teams and if required customers, Support & Test Equipment review, packaging, handling, storage and transportation reviews and improvements, in-service reliability/maintainability/testability demonstrations. Representation of the department at programme design reviews (internal/external).

Qualifications/Skills

As an ILS Engineer your qualifications and experience should include:

- Degree or HND/HNC qualified or suitable experience in an Aerospace related field;
- Knowledge of Defence Standards Def Stan 00-60, 00-600, Def Stan 00-44, JSP 886, and MIL STD 1388;
- Experience of influencing product design to reduce maintenance burden and improve availability;
- UK Military experience desirable;
- Knowledge and understanding of Systems Engineering processes and development life cycles;
- Knowledge of (preferably practical application of) MSG-3/Reliability Centred Maintenance analysis;
- Experience of S2000M/S1000D standards.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and team working skills.
Good time management, ability to prioritise tasks and cope with pressure, so as to be able to work unsupervised.
