My Information Security client, in London, are looking for a Security Specialist to join their Cyber Security Team on a 6 month initial contract.
The role will be based in MONTREAL, CANADA for one of their UK based clients with a large global presence.
All hotel, food and travel expenses are reimbursed.
Due to the nature of the role, the contract is expected to last for up to 12 months.
The key responsibilities include:
- Supporting in-house technologies, monitoring, managing and maintaining the security platforms; management of vulnerability and application scanning, and cyber threat analysis.
- Recognising attempts at intrusion through review and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
- Consulting IT teams regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.
- Assisting implementation of counter measures.
The role involves working closely with the Enterprise Security Function covering multiple security disciplines.
Essential Experience:
- 5 years Security Operations experience and a strong IT security background with hands on security systems experience.
- Team leadership of internal and external teams.
- High level knowledge of Unix, Windows, Networks, Firewalls, IDS monitoring, Security Practices.
- Experience in Security Device Management, Network Security and Zoning, Security Monitoring, Host Protection.
- Messaging, Database, Cloud, Virtualisation, Web and Internet, and Mobile Security experience.
- Payment and Card Processing, and financial network security.
- Operational Experience - Anti-Malware, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanning, DDoS, SIEM, DLP.
- Valid industry standard qualification - eg CISSP Certification.
- Consultation skills working with project teams.
- Abilities in compliance areas - ISO27001, CoBIT, PCI-DCSS, SOX.
Desirable
- SourceFire, IDS/IPS, Websense, FireEye, F5 ASM, Qualys/Nessus.
- Specific database security experience in MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2.
- Networking experience.
- Platform related experience.
Contracted hours are 37.5 per week and (negotiable) pay will be in the form of a daily rate.
