About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Web Developer the Web Developer will be responsible for developing responsive web experiences, writing clean, maintainable PHP/Javascript/HTML and advocating for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality. You will be a brand champion within your role ensuring the website meets our 99.999% reliability, stability, and security promise to our customers. Ultimately, you’re a development wiz with strong communication skills, a high-level of organization and your favorite four letters of the alphabet are C-O-D-E.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop with object-oriented programming languages (mainly PHP)
Develop for the FuelCMS and Wordpress platforms.
Develop custom websites, digital solutions, and complex queries using MVC frameworks (Codeigniter) and MySQL/SQL
Hand-craft HTML5, JQuery and Javascript
Ensure adherence to style guidelines as they relate to online properties
Required Skills:
Experience developing with PHP using an MVC framework, preferably Codeigniter
Experience with developing for Wordpress
Familiar with Fuel CMS and willing to learn in-depth. Our primary website runs on Fuel.
Experience with version control systems (GIT)
Ability to work with a distributed team. We have team members in New York, California, Russia, and Florida.
Ability to thrive and succeed in hyper-growth and fast-paced environments with proficiency and accuracy
Self-directed, strong leadership and project management skills; works extremely well in virtual teams and maintains a positive attitude
Champion of web development best practices and can communicate them to non-technical team members
Bonuses:
Fuel CMS experience
Experience creating and documenting APIs to be used/consumed by others
Experience working with third-party APIs
Interested in code performance tuning
Any experience with Asp 3.0 to help support a legacy application
