My name is Bruce Abel, I work for Online Medical www.onlinemedical.com.au - an Australian company that specialises in creating elegant, practical websites for Healthcare professionals.We are looking for an Australian developer to be responsible for a range of development projects. The developer may be assisted by a local / Australian team, but must be our sole point of contact.
We offer location independence, work anywhere within Australia - provided you can be online during 9am-5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. The ability to remain contactable within these hours is critical.
The work will be primarily fixed price quotes on a per project basis, but this will depend upon the type of work. Rates to be discussed / negotiated. We have plenty of demand, so can provide good ongoing work. We want to develop a mutually beneficial long-term relationship.
Our development process is in place and documented. All infrastructure for hosting and server admin is in place, including dedicated staging and live servers.
The websites we are planning to develop utilise a Drupal Distribution (version 7) and Foundation (version 5). The developer (or development team) will be responsible for creating websites with all features and content complete.
At the beginning of each project there will be a development brief (and request for quote) provided, along with links to site materials via Dropbox. These materials include .PSD design mockups (desktop and mobile). These materials also include all site content in a well organised form, with contextual notes to assist the developer.
We have a need for strong communications skills, both written and verbal. You will be communicating with people who have English as a first language or a second language. Therefore only those with strong English language skills will be considered.
Essentials:
- Experience designing, theming, or developing for Drupal
- 5+ years industry experience
- Drupal 7/8 development
- PHP5 and MySQL
- HTML5, CSS3, Javascript / jQuery
- Responsive web design, utilising frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
- Best practice use of development and deployment tools - SASS, Drush, GIT, BitBucket etc.
- Experience integrating with 3rd party API's
- A passion for best practice coding
- Strong knowledge and experience of cross-browser/platform testing, identifying and resolving bugs.
- Great written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document code / wiki etc.
- Ability to accurately plan and spec a project, including budget and timeline.
Highly regarded:
- Basic Linux experience is an advantage.
