Managing Architect/Technical Architect/Solutions Architect - Leeds - 6 months +
Our client is urgently seeking a seasoned Architect to provide technical oversight across a programme of IT projects.
The role requires a broad range of skills, including:
- Technical experience in a number of technical areas, eg Infrastructure, Networking Application development.
- Project Planning life cycle
- Requirements Analysis
- Testing evaluation
- Implementation planning.
The role requires the Managing Architect to work with the Programme Manager and multiple Project managers to provide technical assistance for the delivery of a major in-sourcing programme and will cover 4 main areas:
- Provision of IT services to 1 main office and 9 other smaller sub offices and depots
- Integration for the in-sourced staff into the standard landscape.
- Provision of a set of IT applications to support the business functions of team.
- Implementation of a mitigation plan for any of the programme segments highlighted above
Specific Architect Tasks:
- To provide technical guidance/consultancy to the problem definition and requirements management.
- To provide Technical guidance to the various project PMs.
- To provide design governance (not assurance) for the tower suppliers designs.
- To document the whole specific project end to end process at the architectural level.
- To identify any showstopper issues with the proposed design/implementation.
- To ensure any tactical decisions do not compromise the future strategic direction for that aspect of the landscape.
- To ensure the right resources are engaged at the right level and right time for the project.
- To provide technical oversight for the infrastructure build and deployment.
- To provide technical last word decisions during the project.
The role would suit an experienced Solutions Architect with a background in infrastructure project management.
