Network & Infrastructure Engineer - Belgium

Languages: DUTCH with ENGLISH, or FRENCH with ENGLISH

Skills and experience:

  • Master degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL is a plus
  • Very strong technology delivery competencies:

- Windows Server

- VMware virtualisation

- Hosting, DR & Datacentre technologies

- Storage Area Networking & NAS

- Microsoft server applications

- LAN Ethernet

- MS Office products including Outlook and office 365; Windows 7, 8 and 10

- Fibre channel storage networking

- Proficient in VBA and SQL codes

  • Knowledge of OTRS (ticketing system) is a plus (Unix environment)
  • Knowledge of telephony systems (Avaya) systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage time, work under pressure and deliver high quality on tight deadlines
  • Goal-oriented and accountable
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Description of work:

  • To be responsible for the IT Operational Integrity: to manage maintenance of computing facilities including hardware and software installations and ensure they remain upgraded and patched accordingly and with minimum risk to on going activity
  • To take overall responsibility for 3rd line application support and incident management, following up KPI/reporting and increasing customer satisfaction
  • To manage the capacity and capability of all IT Infrastructure to ensure that the current and future demands are met
  • To work with Software Delivery/Business Services and the business in agreeing to standard Service Level Agreements for operational IT services
  • To actively contribute to Information Security: all activities are in line with prescribed Information Security best-practice and agreed processes
  • To act as member of the Change Advisory Board in ensuring all changes to operational IT infrastructure are done so in-line with agreed Service Levels and with minimum risk to ongoing activities
