SAP Basis TECHNICAL SUPPORT

6 Month Contract

Background

To provide comprehensive SAP Basis 3rd level services to multiple customers. Due a major expansion a resource is required (SAP/DBA). Capability to provide 3rd Level technical support, design, consultation and technical leadership.

The role:

The applicant will fill the role of Technical Lead and act as the customer interface to the technical team. He/she will be responsible for service level aspects of customer delivery in line with an agreed Statement of Work and Service Level Objectives.

They will contribute to customer service reviews with the customer providing regular activity reporting, analysis of problems, events and changes. The Technical Lead is also responsible for presenting recommendations to the customer regarding capacity and performance, any immediate actions needed to meet Service Level Agreement, security and/or quality audits.

They will need to ensure that all changes meet production criteria, liaise with resource involved in carrying out of changes (including the customer) and acting as first point of escalation for customer delivery issues.

  • Identifying and managing SAP Basis issues throughout BAU and project activities and working with the technical team to develop mitigation & resolution plans
  • Coordinating and performing maintenance & refresh of SAP test environments
  • Coordinating with the DBA team for SAP landscape changes and incidents
  • Maintaining secure interfaces between SAP systems, and managing availability
  • Managing and submitting changes and service requests to internal and external service providers
  • Ensuring correct and accurate documentation for system builds
  • Managing technical cut overs, changing deployments and data updates
  • Responsible for High Availability and Disaster Recovery testing for all SAP systems
  • Aligning with Solutions Architect on infrastructure standards and planning.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Hands-on experience with SAP/Basis Administration across multiple SAP landscapes.
  • Prior experience in installing and configuring multiple SAP Business Suite and Netweaver systems on Windows/Oracle platform.
  • Experience in ERP 6, CRM 7, PI 7.11, BI 7, BO 4.1, Portal 7.3 Sol Man 7.1, GRC 10.1 and SRM 7 on Windows/Oracle
  • DBA skills, primarily Oracle but some SQL Server also an advantage
  • The ability to work with the business and solutions team to understand their requirements
  • Strong exposure to SAP NetWeaver technologies
  • The ability to mentor & delegate to virtual team members in other sites.
  • Ensure proper prioritization and schedule for production database changes.
  • Process and technical documentation
  • 24 x 7 oncall support
