Quality Function Development Manager

Role Purpose:

Promote and implement Quality capability improvement initiatives and plans within the international Quality community in accordance with the latest quality paradigm; embed mechanisms to sustain and reinforce Quality skills and knowledge key at company and operational level; manage significant Quality communication events.

Accountabilities:

Cultural Communication - Interpret director-level needs to design and then assure the effective delivery and evaluation of three National Quality Information Forums in local language. Develop, in collaboration with local events team members, innovative delivery of the annual International Quality BOM Conference; be the architect of inspirational campaigns and materials to enhance the visibility and attractiveness of Quality Directorate at Innovation Corners, Roadshows, Recruitment and Training events etc. as required by the Group Quality Director.

Skills and Competencies - Initiate and implement a new Tactical Model for Quality skills & capabilities. Act as the catalyst with Group Heads of Quality to transform the development and benchmarking of S&C at the Domain/Profession/Job level in accordance with the requirements of latest Quality paradigm improvement programme.

QA in Systems; Quality induction training - Develop and enhance (and deliver where appropriate) the final syllabus for 'QA in Systems' training module as an element of Quality training package for export customers and an "internal" variant to help overcome the strategic quality skills challenge. Design BMS Gates training module in response to latest evolution's. Engage and negotiate "Quality Referents" and Operational practitioners to prepare and deliver training course materials. Design and deliver enhanced Quality induction material for international.

Virtual QFD - Realize the conceptual design and page designs to rejuvenate and transform the QFD website into a focused, attractive and valued user experience in 3 languages. Develop the future Quality management career Pathway on Engineering career development site in consultation with Group Heads of Quality.

Business area proximity facilitation- Facilitate effective Group Quality Directorate UK proximity management, by ensuring delivery and evidence of the effective and on-time implementation of Team-brief cascade, Team-building events and HR People Management meetings within the Quality Directorate in UK. Act as the interface between Group Quality Directorate UK and UK national entity teams in place to provide specialist advice, support and resource.

Skills and Knowledge:

Dynamic, self-driven operational manager with experience of people competency development preferably in a quality management environment

Influential communicator with excellent presentation preparation & delivery capability; and successful engagement at Director level

Broad understanding of the key technologies & Quality methodologies used in systems, sub-systems & eqpt development and manufacture

Knowledge of external resources and mechanisms associated with people competency development

Good business understanding and able to contribute strategically at company level

Understanding of cultural differences

Able to plan and deliver achievement through others
